Gandhi Jayanti 2026: Honouring the Ideals of Truth, Peace and Service

Birla School, Pilani participated in the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations held on 2 October 2026 at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi near Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani. Mr. Ajay Kumar Agarwal, Deputy Director (A&L), Birla Education Trust, Pilani, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme honoured the enduring legacy of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The celebrations commenced with floral tributes to both leaders, followed by devotional bhajans. Presentations highlighted Gandhiji’s thoughts on education, cleanliness, women’s empowerment, peace, communal harmony and self-reliant villages, emphasising their continued relevance.
Birla School’s contributions focused on Gandhiji’s views on education, Poorna Swaraj, the Non-Cooperation Movement, women’s empowerment and peace. These presentations encouraged reflection on his vision of a society founded on equality, responsibility and non-violence.
The programme also featured a book prize presentation and an address by the Chief Guest, followed by a pledge and a vote of thanks.
The occasion inspired participants to practise truth, compassion and service in everyday life and carry forward the values exemplified by these two national leaders.
