Our school organised SAPTRISHI-2017: An Interschool Literary Competition on 3rd November 2017 in the Senior Residential Wing. Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam said, “Dream is not that you see in sleep, it is that does not let you sleep.” The day we conceived the dream of Saptrishi-2017, we started working for it and our untiring efforts reached culmination when the grand event was inaugurated by Maj. Gen. (Retd.) S. S. Nair, (AVSM), Director, Birla Education Trust in the pious presence of the 84 participating students and 20 escort teachers and the students of teachers of the host school. There were 12 renowned schools namely O P Jindal Modern School, Hisar, MGD Girls’ School, Jaipur, Neerja Modi School, Jaipur, Rukmani Birla Modern High School, Jaipur, Sahwag International School, Jhajhar, etc which accepted our invitation and sent their teams of students to compete in 7 different event competitions like Indian Heritage Quiz, On the Spot Drawing Competition, English Declamation, English & Hindi poem Recitation and Extempore. We introduced the new concept in the competition to make it transparent. Our students though participated but they did not compete for individual or team prizes. The judges themselves decided the prizes and positions. Kirti Yadav, Dundlod Public School, Dundlod, Aditi Bhutani, O.P. Jindal School, Hisar, Deepanjali, Vaish Model School, Bhiwani, Astha Nain, O.P. Jindal School, Hisar, Naman Jain, Rukmani Birla Modern High School, Jaipur, Khushali Mahajan, O.P. Jindal School, Hisar,Yogesh Boken, Rao Pahlad Singh Sr. Sec. School, Mahendragarh were judged for the first prizes in all their respective events. Prof. A K Sarkar, Director, BITS, Pilani was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. He gave away the prizes and addressed the budding students. He appealed them to follow what they love. They have to explore their creativeness and exhibit it in such events like SAPTRISHI-2017.
